Android app by KegaSoft

Help a family member with their phone — without taking control of it.

PhoneAid connects a trusted helper with the person who needs help. Together you solve everyday Android problems with step-by-step guides, optional phone summaries, and screenshots the assisted person chooses to send.

PhoneAid does not remotely control another phone.

What PhoneAid is — and is not

Guided family help. Not remote desktop, not antivirus, not a phone booster.

PhoneAid does

  • Pair two trusted phones with a short code and clear consent
  • Let the assisted person ask for help in plain language
  • Share optional battery, storage, app-count, and permission summaries
  • Send step-by-step solution cards they follow themselves
  • Allow a screenshot only when they pick the image
  • Let either person stop sharing and delete shared cloud data

PhoneAid does not

  • Take remote control of the other phone
  • Watch the screen in the background or capture it automatically
  • Read SMS, contacts, call logs, location, camera, or microphone
  • Change permissions or delete files by itself
  • Scan for viruses or claim to speed up the phone
  • Require a name, email, or password to sign in

How a help session works

Keep PhoneAid open on both phones. There are no push notifications yet, so refresh if something new was just sent.

1

Connect

The helper creates a 6-digit code. The assisted person enters it, reviews consent, and accepts. Codes expire in 10 minutes.

2

Ask for help

Pick a problem such as storage, battery, WhatsApp, or internet. Optionally add a description and a phone summary.

3

Follow a guide

The helper sends a step-by-step card. The assisted person taps through each step, or sends a screenshot they choose.

4

Finish or stop

Mark solved or not solved. Change consent anytime. Stop sharing and delete shared cloud data when you are done.

Features

What is in the current Android app. This release is free. Premium screens are a preview only — there are no in-app purchases.

Role onboarding

Choose helper or assisted user on first launch. Change it later in Settings.

Trusted pairing

6-digit invitation, hashed and rate-limited. Confirm the helper’s name before you accept.

Granular consent

Basic help, extra phone details, and screenshots are separate switches. Everything starts off until you turn it on.

Help requests

Pick a problem, add an optional description, and review what will and will not be sent.

Safe phone summaries

Model, battery, storage, app count, and permission types — not file names, messages, or app contents.

PhoneAid’s suggestion

A rule-based first step for the helper. Guidance only — not AI and not a guarantee.

50+ solution cards

Storage, battery, WhatsApp, internet, sound, camera, notifications, strange ads, and more. Brand-aware wording where useful.

Step-by-step sessions

One step at a time. Ask for help if a menu is hard to find. Finish with solved, partly solved, or not solved.

Helper actions

Send a guide, ask for more information, request a screenshot, request phone status, or send a short instruction.

Manual screenshots

System photo picker only. Never captured automatically. Private storage, scoped to the pairing.

Screenshot notes

Helpers can add a short note on a received image so the other person knows where to tap.

Simple Assist Mode

Larger buttons and simpler screens for people who want less clutter.

Privacy Center

See what is shared. Stop sharing. Delete shared cloud data. Delete local help history.

Ten languages

English, Turkish, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic, Hindi, Indonesian, and Russian.

Weekly reports

A plain-language check from consented summaries. Preview-only in this free beta.

Problems PhoneAid is built for

The assisted person chooses one of these when asking for help.

Storage is full
Battery drains quickly
Phone is slow
Phone gets hot
WhatsApp is not working
Cannot connect to the internet
Sound problem
Camera is not working
Notifications are missing
Strange ads keep appearing
An app will not open
Something else

Not a remote-control app

If you need someone else to operate the phone, PhoneAid is the wrong tool. If the person should stay in control, it is the right one.

Remote support apps

  • Helper operates the other phone
  • Live control or screen takeover
  • Often assumes a technical helper
  • Trust model can feel opaque

PhoneAid

  • Assisted user follows steps on their own phone
  • Optional summaries and screenshots they send
  • Plain language for family help
  • Granular, revocable consent in Privacy Center

Privacy by design

Cloud sync exists so two phones can help each other — not so we can profile you.

No account password

Anonymous per-device sign-in. You do not create a name, email, or password inside the app.

Nothing leaves without consent

Device summaries and screenshots are optional. Help can be sent with limited or no phone status.

Stop sharing and delete

Disconnect the pairing, delete shared cloud data, or wipe local history. Uninstalling removes the on-device database.
